We are dorks. Yes we are.
April 30, 2006It’s Saturday night. What are we watching?
You guessed it. . .
The White House Correspondent’s Dinner!
But it is being hosted by Stephen Colbert.
And Ludacris is there. Other attendees: Karl Rove. Justice Scalia with a Cor*ona in hand. Lawrence Fishburne. George Clooney. Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame. Rita Cosby! Madeline Albright. Lots of D.C. glitterati. Mayor Nagin.
P.S. please ignore any snarky snarkiness of. . . oh. . . yesterday. It was one of those days.

I was dorking right there with ya’. Can I say my excuse was that we only get basic cable? LOL!
You know, that’s what I don’t understand about that dinner now. What’s with all the Hollywood types? When did they become correspondents? It was really telling when you see people like Phil Simms and Maura Tierney (chomping on gum while talking to someone!!) at the tables nearest the dais and all the “real” journalists somewhere at the back near the kitchen….

See, if you guys moved up here, we could all watch C-Span together! Wheeeeee!
I have no idea about the guest list. Wicked bizarre, I say.

What do you know about Winston-Salem?

Aaaah, the triad. J’s step-mother lives around there. A bit smaller than the triangle. Winston-Salem is an old-tobaccy town, home of RJReynolds*. But best of all, not too far from here.
But seriously, I’ll ask J what his impression is (since he knows more about it than I do.)

Oooh, I forgot about the tobaccy! Hmmm. Well, we might be taking a swing up that way during vacation. Trying to get a cabin and just chill - that is if I can ever get my butt in gear.
